Otavalo Market & Indigenous Community Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Today we visit the indigenous karanki families in the Imbabura province and the famous Otavalo Indian Market considered the finest and most well-known fair on the continent. –  Early in the morning, we drive north through the Panamerican Highway, crossing the town of Calderon; famous for bread doll figures; then we will cross Cayambe, surrounded by the heavily cultivated pastures of old haciendas where one of the most famous varieties of cheese and salty biscuits are waiting for us. Arrive in the community to have lunch. – Activities in the community dinner and overnight. (L-D)

Day 2

After breakfast, we will leave for the Otavalo village, where the people consider the most ambitious and wealthy merchants in Ecuador, where you can shop textiles, weavings, sweaters, and belts and bargain with the colorful and industrious natives.- Lunch.

Then we will visit the village of Cotacachi, famous for the quality of leather goods at unbelievable prices. Shops along the main streets. PM .-Return to Quito. (B-L)
