Guayaquil is Ecuador’s largest city, with about 3,000,000 inhabitants. Situated at sea level its port “Puerto Maritimo” is the main seaport of the country where about 80% of the country´s imports and more than 50% of its exports are handled.
Guayaquil is the commercial and industrial center of Ecuador and lies on the west bank of the river Guayas about 60 km from its outflow in the Gulf of Guayaquil.
Traveling along the main streets and avenues of the city, we will visit the Simón Bolívar Park, The Guayaquil embankment, and La Rotonda with the statues of Bolivar and Saint Martin.
We will then visit the colonial neighborhood of Las Peñas, where we can admire the magnificent wood architecture and where every house is a work of art. From here, we can take a panoramic view of Guayaquil and the Guayas River.
