Important Update: New Digital Customs Registration for Ecuador Travel

Get ready, fellow adventurers! Starting July 29, 2025, Ecuador is implementing a mandatory Digital Customs Registration Form (FRA) for all travelers. This applies to everyone – Ecuadorian nationals and foreign visitors alike, whether you’re arriving or departing by air, land, or sea.

The biggest change? You’ll need to complete this form even if you’re not carrying any goods to declare. The National Customs Service of Ecuador (SENAE) has introduced the FRA to enhance customs control and prevent irregularities.

How to Complete Your Digital Customs Registration:

It’s a straightforward online process. Just follow these steps:

1. Access the SENAE Portal: Go to Customs Registration Form
2. Navigate to Citizen Service: Click on the ‘Citizen Service’ tab.
3. Find the Customs Registration Form: Select ‘For travelers: Customs Registration Form’ and create a user account using your ID number and a password.
4. Fill Out the Form: Choose whether you’re entering or leaving the country, provide your personal details, and declare any goods, money, or negotiable instruments as required.
5. Get Your QR Code: Once you’ve completed the FRA, a QR code will be generated. You’ll need to present this QR code at immigration when you enter or leave Ecuador.
